Elastomeric Springs for Seismic Shock Isolation

Abstract We have described the development of seismic isolators to meet a specific requirement. The use of ventilated blocks serves to aid in obtaining a thorough cure, and the configuration and direction of the holes control the shape of the force—deflection curves. Figure 21 shows a completed spring installed on a Minuteman support structure.
