Method and system for accessing local network by mobile terminal via home base station system

A method and a system for accessing a local network by a mobile terminal via a home base station system are provided. The method includes the following steps: the home base station subsystem where the mobile terminal is located sends the identification(ID) of the local gateway module in the home base station subsystem to a core network management network element; the core network management network element judges that the mobile terminal needs to access the local network, and then the core network management network element establishes a general packet wireless service(GPRS) tunneling control bearer with the home base station subsystem according to the ID, thus enabling the mobile terminal to access the local network via the home base station subsystem. The method together with the system enables the core network to obtain the address of the local gateway general packet radio service supporting node/packet data network gateway(GGSN/PDN GW) corresponding to the home base station without manual configurations, thus reducing the complexity of network configurations.
