Norfloxacin, ampicillin and ofloxacin therapy in acute uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis

A study was carried out comprising 150 patients of acute uncomplicated gonorrhoea treated with either 800 mg of norfloxacin (75 cases) or 3.5 g of ampicillin (50 cases) or 200 mg of ofloxacin (25 cases). The cure rates were 81.3%, 78% and 92% respectively. Ofloxacin appears to be a better drug than ampicillin, which showed a high failure
