This work aims to analyze the transport – urban expansion interrelation. The methodology consisted of: a bibliographical survey to support the theoretical approach; the study and analysis of the TM/LANDSAT 5 (1989 e 2007) satellite images, available at the National Institute of Space Research (INPE) - http://www.dpi.inpe.br, to detect the evolution and tendency of the city area occupation; georeferenced information and representations of
