Perfil epidemiológico dos detentos: patologias notificáveis

Objective: to analyze the main pathologies that affect the inmates of a Prison Complex of Recife / PE, reflecting in the light of the literature the nursing conceptions that permeate such diseases. Methodology: This is a documentary study, exploratory and descriptive in nature, with a qualitative approach. The data were collected in the Prison Complex localized in Recife, Pernambuco State; and there were analyzed from the pre-set criteria by means of a questionnaire with 113 records of prison guards in closed regime. After the completion of forms, the database was formatted and data analyzed using the Epi Info Program 2007. Results: There was possible to detect that in relation to the epidemiological profile of the carceraries found to 66.73 % age of 18 to 31, 8.85 % have coexist with the HIV/AIDS virus and 13.27 % have mental disorder. Conclusion: The scenario of the prison system is of superhuman conditions, which damages the basic human rights of citizenship. In this situation, vulnerability increases, and the emergency for the implementation of policies, strategies and actions that intervene in these locations is evident. Educational interventions are needed with inmates, a greater number of health professionals, especially nurses, trained and sensitized to act in these realities, guaranteeing actions of promotion, prevention and recovery of health.
