Efectos positivos en la educación universitaria del uso de aplicaciones basadas en la metodología mobile-learning.

2020
The objective of this work is to analyze how the student's academic performance can be influenced by the use of different applications based on Mobile-Learning methodology, the academic record, and the attendance to the classrooms. In particular, this study focuses on the way that the use of the Kahoot! in university classrooms as a complementary tool to the master classes can affect the academic performance of the subject. The database used to test the hypotheses raised has been created using the data obtained from 39 students of the subject Operations Management, a compulsory third year subject in Business Administration and Management Degree, at Jaume I University in Castellon, during the 2018/2019 academic year. The methodology used has been the use of a linear regression. The results show that the score obtained in the Kahoot! tests, the average grade of the student's file before taking the subject and the class attendance have a positive effect on the final score of the subject. The limitations that emerge from this study focus on the sample size and the academic year. These results propose practical implications that should be considered by universities and those responsible for education.
