The nature of hydrogen bonding in electron-transport proteins
1980
Abstract Dimer models are used to represent those hydrogen bonds in heme and iron-sulfur proteins which have been hypothesized to play a role in setting the redox potential of these proteins. Dimerization energies and charge density difference plots obtained from ab initio molecular orbital calculations help characterize the changes in these bonds with change in protein oxidation state.
