Effect of lead-removing food on mineral matter in lead poisoned mice.
2010
Objective To observe the effect of lead-removing food on mineral matter in lead poisoned mice. Methods Ninety Kunming male mice(18 ~ 22 g) were randomly divided into negative control group, lead acetate model group, positive medicine group, low dose group, medium dose group and high dose group.Except the negative control group with free drinking deionized water containing 12.50 μL/L of acetic acid, other groups were free to drink 1.00 g/L lead acetate aqueous solution for poisoning.30 days later, the tested compound was given by oral gavage to different dose groups with 5,10 20-fold of the recommended human intake of 0.60 g/(kg?d),respectively,and dimercaptosuccinic acid solution was given to positive medicine group and deionized water was given to lead acetate model group and negative control group.A month later, the content of mineral matter was determined for whole blood, liver, femur, kidney and brain. Results Compared with lead acetate model group, the levels of lead in blood, liver and brain in the tested dose groups were signif icantly decreased, the levels of lead in femur and kidney in the medium and high dose groups were signif icantly decreased. And the levels of calcium in whole blood and brain and the levels of copper in whole blood and kidney were signif icantly decreased, but the levels of iron in whole blood and brain and the level of calcium in femur were signifi cantly increased for low, medium and high dose groups.Besides, compared with lead acetate model group, the levels of zinc in whole blood and bone and the level of iron in kidney were signifi cantly increased, but the levels of zinc in liver and kidney were signifi cantly decreased for medium and high dose groups. And the levels of copper in brain were signif icantly decreased, while the levels of iron in liver and zinc in brain were significantly increased for high dose group. Conclusion Lead-removing food can significantly improve mineral metabolic disorders in mice with lead poisoning..
