Possibility of interband coupling in MgB2 from anharmonic phonons and quadratic electron-phonon interaction

Abstract We argue that the interband coupling in MgB 2 originates from strong anharmonicity of the phonons and the presence of both linear and quadratic electron–phonon interactions due to the bond-stretching modes.
