Electro‐Deposited Protective Coatings for Planar Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Interconnects

2008
Chromium containing high temperature alloys coated with stable and conductive oxides are being considered as possible interconnects for planar solid oxide fuel cells. The coatings are necessary to increase oxidation resistance and reduce chromium evaporation. Here we report the use of electro-deposition methods for applying Mn/Co alloy coatings as precursor for the production of Mn/Co spinel protective layers. Characterization of the films is done by SEM and EDS analysis.
