Study on Fins Knit by Two Kinds of Biodegradable String for a Manipulatable Endoscope

The endoscope is effective to search the condition or the disease in the body, however normal wired endoscope cannot check deep intestine because of limitation of the cable length. Therefore, the capsule endoscope is focused on. It is desirable to control the endoscope with wireless communication, since it is flowed naturally. We propose the manipulatable capsule endoscope with fins knit by biomaterial string that is dissolved in the body. Safety is guaranteed, since the fin is dissolved if it is removed and is stayed for breakout. This paper proposes the new fin using two kinds of biomedical strings. And the effectiveness of the fin is investigated by experiments. As a result, it is clear that the hybrid fin is better than the fin knit by single kind string.
