2010
Results of diagnostic work up and treatment of 42 patients admitted to our department from October 2003 to April 2009 with preliminary histological diagnosis of primary mediastinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma are presented. After review of histological slides and immunohistochemical evaluation of biopsied material the diagnosis of primary mediastinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was verified in 36 (86 %) of cases. In the rest of the patients the final diagnoses were as follows: anaplastic large T-cell lymphoma (2), T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (1), myeloid sarcoma (1), neuroendocrine cancer (2). The chemotherapy protocols used for treatment of patients with verified diagnosis of primary mediastinal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma were as follows: 17 patients R-CHOD(8)R-EDHAP, 4 patients R-CHOP-like chemotherapy. Without rituximab group: 9 patients CHOD(8)-EDHAP, 3 MACOP-B and 3 CHOP. Overall 5-year survival for all patients treated was 83 %.
