Variation of Antigen and Antibody in Chickens Infected with Avian Leukosis Virus Subgroup J

2013
To make clear the variation of antigen and antibody of chickens infected with avian leukosis virus subgroup J(ALV-J),we inoculated SPF chicken embryos with ALV-J(JS09GY3) at 6th day of embryonation via yolk sac and infected SPF chickens with ALV-J(JS09GY3) at 31 and 56 days of age via intramuscular injection.Then,p27 antigen and antibodies against ALV-J at different days were detected. The results showed that p27 antigen was positive in embryo infection group during all tested time except one chicken at 1 day of age.It was interesting that p27 antigen was negative in other two groups(31-day-age and 56-day-age infection groups) during all test time.p27 antibody was negative for embryo infection group during all test time.However,p27 antibody of 80% chickens was positive in 31-day-age group after three superinfection and 60% positive chickens in 56-day-age group after first infection.ALV-J antibody of three groups at all test time was negative except individual chicken. These results suggested that detection of p27 antigen and p27 antibody would play an important role in early diagnosis of ALV-J infection and eraduation of avian leukosis in flocks.
