This study investigates effects of organizational commitment on job satisfaction of social workers who work at elderly care welfare facilities in 8 different regions in Daegu-Gyeongbuk. 250 social workers participated for 2 months, from June 1st to July 30th, 2009. 1) As characteristics of individual job performance are analyzes by ANOVA with 5 points as Likert`s highest score, the average point is 3.84±0.55, showing high job performance. Variables with statistical significance are age, education, marital status, working place, monthly income, and health condition. 2) ‘Characteristics of job and role’ are an average of 3.83±0.65, showing high characteristics of job and role. Variables with statistical significance are sex, age, education, marital status, religion, working place, monthly income, and health condition. 3) Organizational characteristics are an average of 3.65±0.51. Variables with statistical significance are age, marital status, relation (p<0.05), working place, monthly income, and health condition. 1. 4) Job satisfaction is an average of 3.21±0.32, which is low. A variable with statistical significance is health condition. 5) Job commitment is an average of 3.45±0.49, which is low. Variables with statistical significance are age, marital status, religion, working place, monthly income, and health condition. 6) Organizational commitment is an average of 3.45±0.49. Variables with statistical significance are individual character, job and role character, and organizational character. 7) `Job satisfaction` by job character and organizational commitment is an average of 3.21±0.32. Variables with statistical significance are individual characher by job performance, job and role character, organizational character, and job commitment. 8) Among factors on job satisfaction, individual character of job performance has the biggest impact, followed by the level of job commitment, sex, health condition, and employment type.
