Recent advances in the management of pericardial diseases

ABSTRACTPericardial diseases are relatively common in clinical practice either as isolated diseases or part of an underlying or systemic disease. Recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment have greatly improved the clinical management and lead to consensus documents on multimodality imaging and new guidelines on the diagnosis and therapy of pericardial diseases.The aim of the present paper is to summarize available evidence in order to provide an updated and comprehensive review on the recent advances in the management of pericardial diseases.
