Single-screw extruder and method for plasticizing plastic polymer

2013
For nearly 100 years extruders are designed so that at a given screw diameter, depending on process conditions, a corresponding throughput is achieved. To increase the output capacity of the screw diameter is increased according to the physical similarity laws in general. The length-to-diameter ratio remains the same, or the extruder is longer. This means that the engineer seeks to use an extruder with a small screw diameter. To avoid the disadvantage of space-intensive extruder, rapidly rotating screw have been developed over the last 10 years. Practice are usual extruder having a screw diameter of 35 mm to 100 mm and a length of 30 D to 40 D. However, all brand-usual concepts ultimately fail in the realization of a universal extruder. The invention has for its object to present a universal concept of a single-laminating machine. The invention discloses a squat screw having a diameter of at least 200 mm and with an effective length L, which has the screw diameter D, a ratio L / D 1 to 8
