Negative electrode for high energy lithium ion cells, and a method for their preparation

The invention relates to negative electrode for high energy lithium-ion cells which comprise Li-Me-oxide Me = Mn, Cr, Ni, Co as a cathode active material and the preparation thereof. The electrode composition contains a latex additive based on a acrylic acid derivative copolymer and a butadiene-containing polymeric binder. The electrodes are prepared by mixing the carbon black dispersed with the latex additive is homogenized in a solvent and admixed with the graphite and stirred into a homogeneous mass and said polymeric binder is incorporated at the last step and the electrode composition thus obtained is applied to the carrier substrate.
