Treatment of Displaced Femoral Neck Fractures with Hemiarthroplasty

2022
Femoral hemiarthroplasty is one of several methods for treating displaced femoral neck fractures, providing advantages over internal fixation and total hip arthroplasty that may make it the best treatment option for a select subset of individuals. Medical evaluation and optimization are essential before surgery. Preoperative considerations and attention to technical detail will minimize the risk of complications. Most patients have relatively painless hip function for several years postoperatively.
