The transfer roller

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer roller which is used in an electrophotographic process such as copier and laser printer, in particular, used on the inner side of an intermediate transfer belt of a full-color image forming apparatus, and can reduce image defects such as re-transfer of toner and transfer omission. SOLUTION: The transfer roller has at least two conductive foamed rubber layers on the outer circumference of a conductive shaft, wherein the foamed rubber mean cell size of the outermost layer of the transfer roller is 10 μm or more and is less than 100 μm, the foamed rubber mean cell size of the inner layer of the transfer roller is 100 μm or more and is 500 μm or less, and the resistance value Rx[Ω] of the roller measured in an environment of 23 °C/55 RH% is 5.6 or more and 7.0 or less in Log Rx and the resistance value Ry[Ω] of the inner layer is 5.0 or more and 7.0 or less in Log Ry.
