Second Harmonic Generation in Scleral Collagen as a Non-Invasive Probe for Tissue Optical Properties

Second harmonic generation in scleral tissues is used to infer local tissue scattering and nonlinear susceptibility. Measurements from ex vivo porcine samples suggest that the femtosecond-laser threshold for subsurface photodisruption depends on both these properties.
