PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus or the like in which the number of operations is not changed even when one screen design is adapted to operational panels with different resolutions and sizes. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 has an operational panel 14 and a hard key 10, and includes: a key relating means 52 which acquires size information of an operational panel 14, detects a physical dimension of a soft key 61, and relates such a soft key that has a dimension below the threshold value to the key; a storing means 26 for storing relating information to the soft key and the key 9; and a displaying content controlling means 51 for displaying the soft key related to the key by clearly indicating that the soft key related to the key is related to the key and displaying it on the operational panel. The key relating means 52 acquires the related information to the soft key and the key from the storing means when the key is pushed down and specifies the soft key related to the pushed-down key to inform the displaying content controlling means of it.
