Karst regions and processes in the north Vietnam and their geotouristic significance

2006
The aim of this paper is to present briefly the most spectacular karstic regions in the northern Vietnam referred to their geoturistic potential and to provide some proposals of better logistic and scientific promotions of their values. On the other hand, this region is a perfect field-work site suitable for studying geological and geomorphological processes. In the future it can provide one of the best educational platforms for people (especially children) interested in recognizing natural processes, which have been changing our planet through millions of years. Karst of Vietnam closely relates to the other tropical karst areas well-known throughout Southeastern Asia and, particularly, to the humid, monsoon, tropical karst prevailing in Southern China.
