Characteristic Analysis of Peak-Valley Regulation of Central China Power Grid Under Different Wind Power Consumption Situations

Based on the background of one province in Central China power grid absorbing local and outer wind power, this paper studied on the peak shaving characteristics of the wind power into Central China power grid from different provinces and regions. By analyzing the output characteristics and typical 24h load characteristics of wind power, the characteristic index system of wind power peak shaving load has been established. And the impacts of different indicators on wind power peak shaving have been analyzed. Through the calculation and analysis, the accurate value of wind power peak shaving regulation probability and wind power peak shaving rate could be obtained. In the study of optimal allocation of existing pumped storage power stations, most of the wind power peak shaving rates are considered according to a fixed value. But it failed to analyze the rationality of the fixed value in depth. This paper provides an in-depth analysis of the simplified calculation of wind power peak shaving rate, and through the comparative analysis of the maximum planning capacity of wind power, some useful conclusions are obtained.
