Pulsed-laser diffusion of n+ contacts and n+-p junctions in high purity germanium for nuclear radiation detectors

Abstract We report fabrication of thin ( + contacts, and of n + −p junctions with very low reverse saturation current, on high purity germanium, using a pulsed laser process that requires no heating of the bulk germanium. The junctions appear to be suitable for use in commercial nuclear radiation detectors.
