A display device (1) and method for producing in particular billboard or poster, with a visible side and a rear side opposite thereto. The display device (1) comprises a mask layer and an image layer. The mask layer is in a first region into a plurality of first regions and at least a second zone or in a plurality of second zones and with at least one first zone. in the first zone or the at least one first zone, the mask layer has a substantially higher transmittance than that in the at least one second zone or the second zones. It preferably has an at least 20%, more preferably higher by at least 50% transmittance. The image layer includes at least a third zone and a fourth zone at least in the first region. in the at least one third zone, it has a much higher transmittance than that in the at least one fourth zone, preferably an at least 20%, more preferably higher by at least 50% transmittance. The mask layer and image layer are spaced with respect to a perpendicular to the surface of the mask layer direction (z) of between 0.2 mm and 30 mm from each other, in particular between 0.5 mm to 10 mm spaced apart, preferably between 0.7 mm are spaced apart to 7 mm.
