Effects of plant products and edible oils against rice moth Corcyra cephalonica Stainton in stored groundnuts

1995
A range of plant products was tested for efficacy in protecting stored groundnuts against the rice moth, Corcyra cephalonica Stainton. They were evaluated on the basis of per cent dry matter loss, per cent damaged kernels and pods, and the number of adults emerging from samples infested with larvae or exposed to oviposition. All the plant products and edible oils afforded some protection. However, nochi leaf powder, neem leaf powder and neem oil were most effective followed by neem kernel powder.
