Summary Seven breast cancerfamilies areexamined forevidence oflinkage toa site inthe regionof17ql2-q21, byusing five markers. Thefamilies constitute asubset ofalarger series offamilial breast cancer;the sevenfamilies were selected because constitutional DNA was available on informative members, either fromclinical samples or extracted fromparaffin blocks. Two-point lod scoresarereported. Themaximumlod score,0.8824, isobtained withmarker NM23 at = 0.Thisisclearly notsignificant initself; however, whentaken incontextwith evidence fromexisting reports, itprovides supportforlinkage tothis region.
