A method for non-contact determination of the temperature of a cooking product (18) in a cooking appliance (10) is described comprising a cooking chamber (12), at least one of the cooking space assigned (12) antenna (36), a spectrum analyzer (26) and a Reflexionsanalysator ( 24). The reflectance spectrum of the cooking cavity (12) associated with the antenna (36) is determined via the Reflexionsanalysator (24). The in the cooking cavity (12) present on the noise spectrum is recorded the cooking chamber (12) associated with the antenna (36). The recorded noise spectrum, in particular the noise power is analyzed by the spectrum analyzer (26).
