The uranium trioxide-water system☆

Abstract The uranium trioxide-water system has been investigated in detail. The compounds prepared are UO 3 . 2H 2 O, UO 3 . 0·8H 2 O, α,β and γ UO 2 (OH) 2 and U 3 O 8 (OH) 2 . The deuterated forms of these phases were also studied. Each of the compounds was characterized by X-ray diffraction, i.r., Raman and thermoanalytical methods.
