2009
Objective To explore the common and differences of hospitalization expenses and other related factors in schizophrenic inpatients between the first and second hospitalization. Methods 218 inpatients with schizophrenia were divided into first hospitalization group(n = 87) and second hospi-talization group(n = 131). The investigation data were studied with self - made scale of hospitalization expenses and influencing factors in schizophrenic inpatients. Results There was no significant difference on average hospitalization expense and constitute between the two groups (P > 0.05). The main expenses were the costs of treatment (about 42%), berth(about 25%) and drug(about 18%). Patients in second hospitalization were more non -occupation, higher age, longer ill -course ,fewer using second rank drug, worse efficacy, lower level of family economy and lower daily average expenses (P < 0.05). Conclusions Although there is no significant difference on average hospitalization expense between the first and second hospitalization, importance must be attached to the treatment of first hospitalization, so as to avoid second hospitalization and extra economy burden.
