Florida Solar Energy Research and Education Foundation: Promoting the growth and development of the solar industry

The Florida Solar Energy Research and Education Foundation (FlaSEREF) was established by the Florida Solar Energy Industries Association (FlaSEIA) to further the development and use of solar energy. FlaSEREF became operational in 1995. Under a grant from the Florida Department of Community Affairs Energy Office, the Foundation began to develop strategic alliances with key sectors influencing the use of solar energy. Four program elements were defined which established a focus for working with these sectors: home builder, utility, financial, and institutional. A fifth program element, designed to communicate the results of the efforts was also established--education.
