Stakeholder analysis of intelligent speed adaptation (ISA)

2004
This paper deals with the implementation of Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA) in road vehicles: systems, which take into account the local, speed restrictions and prevent the driver from speeding. Little is known about the opinions of stakeholders which will likely supply the ISA facilities. In this paper these opinions are explored, based on a survey among European stakeholders. According to stakeholders, a basic form of ISA could be introduced within the short term. However, system performance, willingness to invest by users and public authorities and legal issues obstruct large-scale implementation further developments.
