Electrical contact properties of granular carbon aggregates Part 3 - Effects of prolonged air oxidation

1963
The effect of prolonged air oxidation on the contact resistance of carbonized anthracite aggregates has been investigated. The rate of increase in resistance, the maximum resistance attained and the rate of loss of carbon during oxidation have been shown to depend primarily on the maximum temperature attained either during carbonization or in subsequent heat treatment in an inert atmosphere.
