Clinical Analysis of 56 Cases with Late Pregnancy Complicated with Heart Disease

Objective To study the result of late pregnancy complicated with heart disease to infant and pregnancy. Methods We reviewed the clinical data of the patients from Aug. 1994 to Jan. 2008. they were divided into groups A,B,C according to heart function. The types of heart disease,cardiac functional status(New York heart association,NYHA),the pregnancy gestational weeks of pregnancy termination,mode of delivery and outcomes of infants were compared between the groups. Results Peripartum cardiomyopathy and pregnancy induced by hypertension were frequent late pregnancy associated with cardiac disease. Cesarean section delivery is the major childbirth style. The spontaneous delivery and term delivery rate and neonatus mean weight of A group were significantly higher compared with B,C group(P 0.05).Conclusion Late pregnancy associated with cardiac disease was the important reason of parturient and neonatus death. The major method to discontinue pregnancy was cesarean section delivery.
