Research on Genes Related to Development of Plant Shoot Branch

2011
Plant shoot branches arise from the axillary meristems which form in the axils of leaves on the primary shoot axis, are regulated by the genetic makeup of the plant, the developmental stage of the plant, and the environment in which the plant is growing. In recent years, people's understanding for the adjusting mechanism of plant branching development is going deeper and deeper via the studies on various mutants.Scientists have cloned a series of important genes. This review presented the research progresses in the genes related to the formation of auxiliary meristem as well as the outgrowth of auxiliary buds,in order to provide theoretical basis for the study of plant shoot branch.
