Variabilidade estratigráfica e espacial dos contextos cerâmicos no Sítio Teotônio

2020
Intra-site spatiality is a complex issues debated within Amazonian archaeology. The superposition of occupations within sites with extensive chronologies of human occupations can also create significant difficulties in the interpretation of the archaeological record. This article offer an attempt to spatially comprehend an area with these characteristics. It focuses on the Teotonio site, located on the adjacent river bluff of the homonymous waterfall on the Madeira River, which has a chronology that extends until 9000 years before present. Our research is restricted to the occupations by ceramics producers that extended from 3000 years BP until colonial times. Besides delineating the form of occupations, we identified a predilection of these different groups for a specific area of the site.
