Study of target temperature field induced by laser in different environment
1996
In this paper, laser heating SOCrMnSiA steel materials which were placed in natural heat convective enviroment and forced heat convective enviroment was studied from experiments and theory. The forced heat convective enviroment was provided by a tangential airflow of about 0.1 Mach over the tested samples. The experiments were done with repitively pulsed (RP) YAG laser providing 0.3ms pulses at lOOHz and 2ms pulses at lOHz, the laser wave length is 1.06 nm. The purpose of the experiments was to determine the thermal response of 30CrMnSiA steel material to laser in different enviroments. The experiment results show that material temperature rise induced by laser is dependent on enviromental heat convective condition besides laser intensity, wave structure and sample thickness ect. A two-dimensional finite element model was assumed in the paper to evaluate the spatial distribution of the transient temperature rise induced by a gaussian laser beam.
