baseline positive and negative symptom scores, more severe thought disorder, and lower GAS scores (p ~ 0.00-0.04). Acute parkinsonism was also associated with longer time to remission from first episode of illness (p = 0.02). Acute akathisia was associated with better level of remission (p 0.002), and acute dystonia was associated with shorter time to remission from first episode of illness (p 0.06). Qualitative abnormality of the third ventricle was associated with acute parkinsonism (p = 0.005), and qualitative cortical abnormality was associated with acute dystonia (p = 0.055). Additional clinical and biological correlates of acute extrapyramidal symptoms in first episode schizophrenia will be presented.
