FOMENA, A., LEKEUFACK FOLEFACK, G.B. & BOUIX, G. 2008. Three new species of Henneguya (Myxozoa: Myxosporea), parasites of fresh water fishes in Cameroon (Central Africa) J. Afrotrop. Zool. 4: 93-103. Examination of fishes belonging to the families of Anabantidae, Hepsetidae, Schilbeidae and Clariidae captured in Nkam and Benoue basins in Cameroon revealed the presence of three new species of Myxosporidea of the genus Henneguya Thelohan, 1892, all gill parasites. The described species were: Henneguya nkamensis sp. n., parasite of Hepsetus odoe (Bloch, 1794), Henneguya pethericii sp. n., parasite of Ctenopoma petherici Gunther, 1864 and Henneguya ntondei sp. n., parasite of Schilbe mystus (Linne, 1758). The diagnosis of Henneguya fusiformis Kostoingue, Fall, Faye & Toguebaye, 1999, a parasite previously found in Chad, was supplemented by new characters.
