Impactos socioculturales ambientales del desarrollo turístico en Mezcales, comunidad del municipio de Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit

Se dan a conocer los resultados de una investigacion realizada en el poblado de Mezcales, municipio de Bahia de Banderas, Nayarit. El objetivo fue identificar los impactos socioculturales que el desarrollo turistico ha propiciado en la region. Se describe la percepcion de los pobladores acerca de la actividad turistica y sus efectos, la desruralizacion de sus actividades economicas y su incorporacion en el sector de los servicios, asi como la interaccion con trabajadores provenientes de otros estados del pais. La metodologia utilizada fue de tipo cualitativo con enfoque etnografico y se emplearon las tecnicas de la entrevista y la observacion participante. Los resultados muestran las inequidades y contradicciones que ha traido el auge de la actividad turistica, presentando una gran distancia para que se de un desarrollo sustentable en la region tal como se ha pretendido en los discursos oficiales. Palabras clave: desarrollo, impacto sociocultural, sustentabilidad, turismo Abstract The results of an investigation made in Mezcales, Bahia de Banderas, Nayarit, are shown in this presentation. It had the objective of identifying the sociocultural and environmental impacts that tourism development has promoted in the region. It describes the perception of the inhabitants about the touristic activity and its effects, the deruralization of its economic activities and its incorporation in the services sector, as well as the interaction with workers coming from different states in the country. The methodology used was the qualitative type with an ethnographic approach and the techniques of interview and participative observation were employed. The results show the inequity and contradictions that the rise of tourism activity has brought, far yet from the principles that sustainable de-velopment proposes, being this aspiration very present in texts and official speeches.
