The Infra-red Spectra of Complexes with Planar Dithio Oxamides. Part II: The Pd(LH2) 2X2 Complexes

Pd(II) gives square planar complexes Pd(LH2) 2X2 in acid media. X = Cl, Br, I; LH2 = Dithio oxamide (DTO), N methyldithio oxamide (RDTO) and NN′ dimethyldithio oxamide (RRDTO). These ligands act as bidentate ligands with S,S coordination. The hydrogen bonding ability is found to increase on passing from DTO to RRDTO and from Iodide to Chloride.
