An Exploration into the Causes for FAN Chang-jiang's Success in Literary Creation of Reportage

2001
FAN Chang-Jiang was an excellent reportage writer who was characterized by all kinds of makings an author of reportage should have to come to be aimed with: tortuous and complicated experiences and a plentiful accumulation of knowledge, which had made him come up with the ability to see through the appearance to get at the essence of things; an uninterrupted progress in ideology and a strong sense of social responsibility, which had led him to regard serving the country as his duty so that he would often write pieces of reportage about central issues facing the country and the people; the honest moral character and the most powerful capacity to initiate or participate in social activities, which had left him in a position to go deep into the realities of life at different social strata, investigating and studying various problems in the society, and which had enabled him to tell the truth and deal with existing social problems in his reportage. All of these constitute the causes for FAN Chang-jiang's success in literary creation of reportage.
