The application of spectrophotometry in the investigation of amniotic fluid by amnioscopy. part II. A clinical study.

1975
: A spectrophotometric method is presented for use during amnioscopy for the estimation of the colour of amniotic fluid. The application of five different filters was tested; and a ratio of the results obtained using filters with mean wave-lengths of 621 nm and 589 nm was found to be the most reliable parameter for the detection of green coloured amniotic fluid. Preliminary results are so promising that further examinations and a development of the method are indicated. Various improvements to the method are also discussed.
