Three Layers Ultra-Broadband Perfect Metamaterial Convertor Based on Double Split-Ring Resonators

2018
By combining advantages of the double split-ring resonators (DSRRs) and a coating substrate, we proposed and investigated an ultra-broadband reflective perfect metamaterial polarization convertor (PMPC) with thin microstructure theoretically and experimentally. The mechanism of the proposed PMPC and its performance were demonstrated by the simulated S-parameters, polarization conversion ratio and surface current distribution at the working frequency. The simulated results indicated that the PMPC obtained an ultra-broadband polarization conversion ratio of 9.43GHz (from 5.69 to 15.12GHz) with the ratio larger than 90%. We fabricated, measured, and illustrated the PMPC and experimental results agreed well with the numerical simulation.
