SENSORS TO RECORD ATMOSPHERIC AND TERRESTRIAL INFORMATION: PRINCIPLES OF COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
1987
In this presentation, the basic principles of sun-synchro nous polar and geosynchronous satellite-borne sensing devices for the detection and monitoring of atmospheric and terrestrial features will be considered. We shall consider both scanning and staring sensing de vices. The main thrust of the presentation will be to discuss the dif ferent experimental and operational systems which have been deployed to collect optimal data for selected purposes. The difference between an alog and digital data will be discussed.
