Considering the academic ideals and scientific principles involved in sound evaluation practices, one must wonder about the inclusion of a chapter on politics of evaluation in a major conference on evaluation of continuing education for health professionals. That is, by what reasoning did the planners of this Conference decide to include a discussion of politics when the other major topics so neatly and logically addressed truly central aspects of evaluation: problems of design, of data collection, and of data analysis?
