Identification of parameters of the glucose-insulin homeostasis under everyday live conditions

2017
With measuring both, blood and interstitial glucose concentrations under everyday live conditions, new insights in modeling dynamics of glucose-insulin homeostasis can be obtained. Whereas standard models doesn't take into account individual health conditions, parameter identification can help adapting those models. Finding appropriate parameter sets is achieved by interpreting singular values gathered from empirical identifiability Gramian. A nonlinear downhill simplex method is used for parameter optimization. Results show significantly better characteristics according to measurements.
