Infrared and Raman studies of the [VO(O2)2F]2− ion
1989
The IR and Raman spectra of Cs2 [VO(O2)2F] are recorded. The spectra are interpreted on the basis of Cs symmetry of the [VO(O2)2F]2− ion. The ν(V=O), νs(O–O), and νas(O–O) are assigned at 950, 890, and 875 cm−1, respectively. The calculated values of the force constants fV=O, fO–O, fV–O, fV–O′, and fV–F are 670, 298, 262, 273, and 248 N m−1, respectively. The band assignments and the force constant values are discussed in view of the bonding and structure of the [VO(O2)2F]2− ion.
