Neoplasie vescicali incidentali

2002
The aim of this study was to assess the anatomical-clinical characteristics of incidental bladder tumours diagnosed without urological symptoms in patients being examined for other pathologies. From May 1991 to June 2001 bladder tumour was diagnosed casually in 79 patients. Average follow-up was 42 months. The patients were classified by stage, grade and focality by assessing the anatomical-clinical prognostic factors at the time of diagnosis. The percentages of incidence, recurrence and progression by risk groups were also assessed. Results led to the conclusion that incidental bladder tumours have a better prognosis than symptomatic bladder tumours, even though patient numbers were small.
