Etiología bacteriana de sepsis neonatal tardía en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo durante el periodo 2010-2013.

To determine the bacterial agents of late neonatal sepsis in the Hospital Belen of Trujillo. Material and Methods: A descriptive, retrospective study, carried out in the Hospital Belen of Trujillo during the period between 01 January 2010 and 31 December 2013. We included all clinical records of infants hospitalized in the Department of Neonatology with a diagnosis of discharge of late neonatal sepsis with positive blood culture test. Results: Found 154 records with a diagnosis of late neonatal sepsis with positive blood culture. The predominant etiologic agents were S. epidermidis 44.8%; S. aureus 14.9%; K pneumoniae 5.8%; E. cloacae 5.1%; E. coli 5.1%. Found dominance of germs Gram positive with 72.7%, isolated S. epidermidis in 61.6% of blood cultures; Gram negative germs accounted for 27.2%, finding k. pneumoniae in 21.4% of cases. Conclusions: Staphylococcus epidermidis was the most frequent Etiologic Agent of late neonatal sepsis. Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus aureus were Gram-positive etiological agents isolated more frequently. Klebsiella pneumoniae was Gram negative etiologic agent isolated more frequently
